IT ONLY HAPPENS ONCE A YEAR: ASCENSION EAGLES CHEERLEADER TRYOUTS

Annual auditions are held on the second Saturday of every September

Tryouts are Saturday, 8th September for Newham youth aged 7-14
Learn tryout material & receive all information at 1st September audition workshop, 1.30-4.30, The Royal Docks Community School, Prince Regents Lane.  Attend tryout workshops on 3rd & 7th September to perfect your tryout material.

Ascension Eagles make a year-round commitment to twice weekly training and championship participation on the regional, national & international level. 

To audition you must live in Newham & be aged 7-14 years old. Alternatively, we can help you set up your own squad through London Cheerleading Academy.

TO TRYOUT, YOU MUST ATTEND 3  TRYOUT WORKSHOPS:

Tryouts are open to youth aged 7 to 14 who reside in Newham

Saturday, 1st September, 1.30-4.30pm

The Royal Docks Community School, Prince Regents Lane  E16

At the 1st September workshop, all tryout material –
including cheers, dance, motions and jumps will be taught.

To help cheerleading hopefuls perfect their tryout material attend

Additional workshops on Monday, 3rd Sept. & Friday, 7th Sept.
at Ascension Church Centre, Baxter Road, Custom House E16 3HJ
For the workshops on Sept. 3rd  & 7th:

Ages 7 to 11 attend from 4.30-6pm (up to year 7)

Ages 12-14 attend from 6-8pm (years 8 & above)

The audition fee is £8, and includes all three workshops, plus the actual audition.  Candidates should wear comfortable training clothes (tracksuits or shorts/t-shirt and trainers) to all workshops.

Tryouts will be on Saturday, 8th September at Ascension Church Centre.  Candidates must attend the tryout workshops to learn and master the material that will be performed & scored at try-outs.  Exact tryout times will be assigned at the tryout workshops.

THE COMMITMENT:

Ascension Eagles Cheerleaders make a year-round commitment to twice weekly training & entertaining.

AEC compete at  regional, National and European Championships.  Total competition cost appx. £200 per cheerleader.  Family members are extra.

AEC are expected to purchase all personal uniform parts (leotard, knickers, socks, trainers, t-shirts, shorts) & pay a kit hire charge for cheer uniform, fleece, jacket & sports bag.

While some fundraisers are held to help cheerleaders raise money towards their participation costs, cheerleader’s families are responsible for helping them fulfill both their participation & financial commitment.
